Background

About

Based in Chiba with my Belarusian wife, I live at the intersection of languages and cultures that don't usually overlap. I coach tech executives in high-level business Japanese, create Russian-language content about life in Japan, and photograph the world through glass that's older than most of my students.

I speak Japanese, English, Spanish, and Russian. I think in metaphors, process ideas by talking them through, and believe the best learning happens through immersion — not memorization. Whether it's language, photography, or understanding how things work, I'd rather go deep than stay comfortable.
